Knit a wonderfully festive Gingerbread Man complete with a colourful bow tie, holly-decorated hat and an optional striped candy cane.

This cheerful Christmas character features a warm gingerbread-coloured body, long shaped arms and legs, white decorative bands, three colourful buttons and a separate knitted nose. His red hat is finished with a white knitted hair piece, three holly leaves and berries.

The optional red-and-white candy cane can be sewn into his hands or left off to create a traditional cuddly gingerbread toy.

The pieces are worked flat on straight knitting needles before being sewn together and stuffed.
