Easy knit design, suitable for beginner knitters

Create a beautifully coordinated baby jacket and hat with this classic double knitting pattern.

The button-front jacket features a smooth stocking-stitch body with contrasting garter-stitch borders, cuffs and a cosy turn-back collar. The matching hat has a deep garter-stitch brim, shaped stocking-stitch crown and a traditional pom pom.

Both pieces are worked flat on straight knitting needles and sewn together, making this an ideal project for knitters who are comfortable with basic shaping, increasing, decreasing and simple buttonholes.

The pattern includes five sizes, designed to fit chest measurements from 31–51cm (12–20in).

Worked in DK yarn (8ply/light worsted weight 3)
