The patterned versions feature attractive vertical lace and twisted-stitch panels on each front, while the plain versions are worked in classic stocking stitch. Ribbed borders, shaped sleeves and button fastenings complete the traditional design.

With eight chest sizes ranging from 12 to 26 inches, this pattern is ideal for creating cardigans for very small babies through to older babies and children. Simply choose the required size according to the child’s chest measurement.

• To fit chest: 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 or 26 inches ( Premature Baby - Age 6 )

• Metric chest sizes: 31, 36, 41, 46, 51, 56, 61 or 66 cm

• Finished chest: approximately 14 to 28 inches

• Yarn: DK / double knitting / 8 ply / light worsted weight 3

• Yarn required for each cardigan: 1 or 2 x 100g balls, depending on size

• Needles: 3.25mm and 4mm

• Additional materials: stitch holders and 3 to 6 buttons, depending on the chosen style and size

• Tension: 22 stitches and 30 rows to 10 cm in stocking stitch using 4mm needles

• Worked flat in separate pieces and seamed

• Skills used include ribbing, stocking stitch, shaping, buttonholes, picking up stitches, lace stitches and seaming
